I have a confession to make; I don’t consider myself an master of my trade. I don’t believe anyone in my trade is. The goal posts just move too quickly. By the time you have learned something in the IT industry it is already out of date. That is why I consider myself more of an ‘IT journeyman’.
A “journeyman” is a skilled worker who has successfully completed an official apprenticeship qualification in a building trade or craft. They are considered competent and authorised to work in that field as a fully qualified employee.
The ‘modern journeyman’ is a term, which captures the many varied paths of adult education. It can be used to describe life’s process of continual learning. Although the term journeyman is typically traditional, a ‘modern journeyman’ is used with reference to current concepts of adult education including: ‘life long learning’, ‘up-skilling’, ‘the knowledge wave’, and ‘modern apprenticeships’.
‘Cloud’ or ‘Cloud Computing’ is a term that describes various IT service models which are being used to revolutionise the way software and web services are being deployed and delivered to end-users.
I am a Cloud Journeyman and these are my chronicles. This blog will cover some of the things that I learn along my Cloud Journey and hopefully give you some useful tips to help you along on yours.
